Can stolen property be retrieved from overseas

Can stolen property be retrieved from overseas?
My laptop was stolen out of my car last month--but fortunately, I had installed tracking software and I just received an email indicating that the computer was connected to the Internet, along with the IP address. The problem? It's in Germany!!! Is there any way the German police would assist in tracing the IP numbers and getting it back to me, or am I just out of luck? What do I do?

No. They'll not help at all. International theft must be a major offense for interpol to get involved.
2 :
Contact the computer manufacturer and see what they can do. With Dell, supposedly if my laptop is stolen and EVER taken into a Dell service station or one sponsored by them, the laptop will be confiscated and returned to me.

i dont think so !! have fun there ,

no you dont. they use the same channels we do except some parts of Europe use 2 more channels than we do and Japan one more yet! so Europe uses 13 channels Japan uses 14 and the US uses 11. You might want to make sure you have a travel adapter for plugging your charger in. not all countries use the same plug and or volatages
3 :
also avoid saying anything related to the nazi's the holocaust, or hating david hasselhoff. they are unforgiving when it comes to these things
4 :
You will need wireless driver. Have fun there

For all these you will need the plug adapter. If the equipment is working on both 110(US) and 220 volt you do not need a converter. For those which only work on 110 volt you would either need a converter ( very expensive).Or buy a replacement in Germany. You can also buy a German hairdryer for example that will be cheaper than buying a voltage converter. You can buy all this in Germany any store selling electronics has these example Media Markt same most department stores. Important do not use any if you are not sure it is designed to work on 220 volt you will blow up the thing and it is dangerous for you too.

It depends on where you come from. Our mains are 230V at 50Hz. If you're from the U.S. you will need a 110V to 230V step-up transformer.
3 :
If you have a Radio Shack or a Best Buy near you, go there with your product list and tell them you need a universal adapter that you can power all of those American products from German power sources. They mostly only need to know which of all of your devices draws the most current to make sure they specify a device large enough. But, you SHOULD NOT take your hair dryer and flat iron with you, but buy them in Germany. They are the real killers on the power draw. They would require VERY LARGE and VERY EXPENSIVE power adapters. It's really quite a simple problem to solve. You will be able to easily buy the adapters for everything else in Germany, as well as here in the U.S

Only answer if you have taken a fully functional processor on an aircraft

Only answer if you have taken a fully functional processor on an aircraft?
I need to fly to Germany and I require my processor instead of my laptop. My processor is fully functional and when I arrive in Germany I will tie into a monitor. Need to be 100% assured that when I check the processor fully functional installed in a steal case that when Xrayed it will be allowed to pass and loaded into the belly of the aircraft. I have highly classifed medical data on refugees and my own personal patients. Under no circumstance can I arrive in Germany to hear that my processor was removed because a security agent saw all the wires, hdd, cables etc. etc. inside and became freaked out and did not load onboard the belly of the aircraft. After 9/11 security and flying as become a real pain in the you know what!! Minddoctor, Paris, France

Pl be minful and ensure that when ever you travel , take the minimal sources of risk with you,,,when it seems something is not normal and have not seen before ,, or uncommon type,, any security officer is responsible for each and every act of yours,,, so pl,,, fly with your laptop next time
