How much will I have to pay the airport/airline if i bring my pc with me?
I'll be travelling to germany next month and I need my pc for work. I don't have a laptop..:( How much will the airport ask me to pay for bringing my pc. Is it also allowable to bring non-original CDs or installers?

Probably nothing, it's free in Phoenix, Tampa and other major airports. Check with security on logging in.

Best to check with the airline about something that big. International travel does allow for more weight when flying, but that may be taking things a bit far. As to the disks, those are yours - there shouldn't be any issue with those, customs and immigration aren't the copyright police. Why isn't it possible to re-create your work on a PC in Germany, i.e. take the hd out of your current computer and have it installed in a new one there? Or while still at home, have it all put into a laptop to take with - won't your company cover this cost or are you self-employed? Good luck

For all the hassle, it's probably better to just buy a laptop. You can get a cheap used one on eBay, about $200-$250. It might cost you $100 or more to ship PC in boxes, plus the fact that if it gets damaged by the baggage handlers you'll be SOL. And if it rains, your PC is likely to get wet.

your PC would have to be shipped in cargo and not likely be treated with kid gloves...I, too, suggest a used laptop. Although, there are many great deals out there on new laptops. The risk of damaging your PC and /or losing your work and programs could be far more costly. And yes, the disc's are yours and no ones business
