How can I re-configure my HP laptop so I can get on the internet when I go from the USA to Germany?
I know I can't just log on when I get there. The system has to be re-configured to conform to the region. But I don't know how to do it, and HP wants me to PAY $150 for an extended warranty before their CS dept will help me. Can YOU help me? God will bless you for it.

Say What??? I've used my laptops in US, Canada, Mexico, Carribean, Equidor, Peru, Chile, Brazil, England, Scotland, Spain, Germany, Denmark, France, and Italy. This is without making a single change. The WiFi standards are worldwide. The difference is additional channels are available outside the US that are not used in the US. If you are looking to use a data card such as the CDMA card that is supplied by Verizon, just plan on it not working and take advantage of the proliferation of 802.11B you will find. If you have a quadband Sierra card, it will work in Germany but prep for the costs.

you do not need to do anything. You laptop will pick up the wireless signal like in USA. If you are in a hotel, ask them the password for their wifi. Was in Europe, never had to change anything (even in the Alps) Used a "low end" Toshiba
